There was an excellent article in Monday's Democrat and Chronicle on the pros and cons of self-publishing and the many useful sites for those considering self-publishing. The column offers insight on such self-publishing options as Amazon.com's CreateSpace, Digital Text and Kindle, Lulu.com's options and E-book distribution. There are also several paragraphs of important how tos.

Of course, self-publishing isn't for everyone. As Komando says, most major bookstores won't carry self-published books.
