This just in from the Dodge Festival of Poetry people:
"To the Friends and Supporters of the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, Last January, I had to write you with the sad news that we expected we would have to take a cycle off from the Dodge Festival, as a result of our diminished philanthropic assets and huge increases in demands upon them. You know from my subsequent letters that the Dodge Board was willing to reconsider that decision based on the possibilities of new partnerships that would allow us to relocate the Festival and produce it in 2010 after all.
Last week, the Board officially approved a 2010 Festival, to be held a year from now in Newark. I wanted to be sure you had heard that news and thank you again for your many words of encouragement and offers to help.
We will create, as part of a new project budget, an opportunity for individuals to contribute, called Friends of the Festival. More on that later. For now, here are links to the good news: an essay by Martin Farawell on the Dodge Blog, and the official announcement on our website."
Best wishes from us all,
David Grant President and CEO
