I am still working on scheduling an outing to the Sankofa Arts  Festival on August 22 at Village Gate. Here is a press release for the event:

Fri/Sat-August 21st & 22nd "Sankofa Arts, Dance, Music, & Theater Festival"

Kicking off the Friday night theme of "An Evening of Theater & Jazz",

there will be 3 One-act Plays held, Jazz Performances and Refreshments.

The location-142 Atlantic Avenue, advance tickets will be on sale at Mood Makers

Books in May. Saturday is the second day of the Sankofa Festival in Village Gate.

"Bringing the Community Together to Remember and Honor our Heritage and

History" is the theme of this annual celebration. Featuring a Marketplace of Vendors,

Drumming, Libation, Music, Dance Troupes, Beauty/Health/Wellness Square, Food,

Children's Activity Zone, The Civil Rights Bus and much more. NO FEE FOR SAT.
